One of my favorite things about this iron is that it has the red velvet-like covering on the ouside of the plates. With this, my fingers don't get burned if I accidently touch the outside of the plates.

This is the first time i have bought a straightening iron and actually had it last for years without wearing down. Every other flat iron i have purchased throughout the years has ended up damaging my hair so badly that it ruined it. The chi ceramic flat iron doesn't do that.

It heats up very quickly and to such a high heat that you can straighten your hair quickly and don't have to keep going over the same sections and damaging the hair. There are different heat settings so you can adjust it depending on how thick and course your hair is and how much straightening you need to do.

A great styling tool for any types of hair, whether normal or thin hair, this flat iron hair straightener is the best for everyone. The cord can also be swiveled a full 360 degrees making it easier to maneuver.

This product gets my hair straight quickly, which is important when i'm in a hurry trying to get ready. I was suspect of the need for "ceramic ions" and "far infrared technology", but this iron was highly recommended by salon personnel, so I decided to dish out the money and try it. You don't need to believe the hype to realize that this is a top quality product.

I have long hair (about three inches below my shoulders) and I debated as to whether I should get the 1" or 2" CHI and whether I should purchase the original or turbo. I finally ended up ordering the 2" Turbo CHI and I'm glad I did.

It is lightweight and ergonomic, heats up almost immediately, has a slider bar for varying heat from 176-356F (80-180C), and velvety felt that protects you from burns (also allows me to get closer to my ears and scalp without getting burned). The latter feature is worth the money to me alone, and the the ceramic feels much gentler to my hair (I have baby fine hair very prone to breakage).

It heats fast and gets the job done the first time through. It takes me about 10 minutes to get my hair straight. It has never done damage to my hair and very comfortable to use. I can get in close to the scalp and to my ears without getting any burns. It is very handy, it flattens my hair with out making it so straight it doesn't have any body. You can also turn under to create a curl under or up look. It also leaves my hair feeling soft and looking soft and not fried.

This is also the one my hair dresser uses and she recomended this brand to me and I trust her opinion.

Not all ceramic is created equal - there are solid ceramic plates or plates COATED with ceramic that are cheaper. the ceramic layer on the coated plates can peel off and is supposedly damaging to your hair (not to mention your product is ruined).

So yes, this iron is more expensive, but hopefully it will last for years of top-notch straightening.
